it’s 12am. it’s not peak tumblr hours. nobody will see this. but I decided to say some super controversial things because something someone said annoyed me.
1) love from sources other than romantic love is not more fulfilling. love from all sources is equally fulfilling in different ways.
2) there’s also overlap. how different from familial love is romantic love? is platonic love? don’t you have friends you love like family? don’t you plan to start a family with your partner?
3) this is the most controversial opinion of all. love is simply an emotion. and like all other emotions, it can be regulated. therefore, love in itself is not painful. you can have a passionate healthy love that isn’t obsessive and overwhelming. you can practice independence and self-care with any relationship. you can practice boundaries. you can be interdependent instead of codependent.

our attachment to the moon reveals our human desire for more. we keep searching and reaching for the mysterious, the unknown, the unattainable, because in our nature our souls belong to somewhere else and deep in us, we know.
My counselor told me “you’ve drawn the curtain around your soul, and blanketed your heart. You’re closed off to the world, how do you expect people to love you, if they can’t see you?”
